She’s always up for a challenge, and Jessica Simpson has been named as a mentor on the upcoming NBC reality series “Fashion Star.”

The “Come On Over” songstress will work with aspiring designers on the program, hosted by Elle MacPherson.

According to Gossip Cop, “’Fashion Star’ will let contestants compete for a multimillion-dollar contract to launch his or her own make. Simpson’s role will be to lend guidance and expertise, having enjoyed massive success in fashion herself.”

The “Perks of Being a Wallflower” actress chats about her experiences with making the “Harry Potter” films, particularly the makeup trailer.

“That was my playground. I would sit and play with lipsticks, foundations, and eye shadows; and every now and soon after [head of makeup, Amanda Knight] would let me do the extras’ face paint for the Quidditch matches.”

Emma additionally sings the praises of her longtime costar and friend Daniel Radcliffe. “He understood what his role was, not just as an actor but as the leading man in that huge franchise. And I think that was nearly more urgent in a way. He held it all together. I am very grateful for him.”

As for striking the balance amoung work and school, “I have felt for the last ten years I have had that battle; I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education. It’s been that uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros.’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling clash. I was the one who made life difficult. I just realized at one point that I can’t fight everything. When asked how she stays so fit, Pam shared, “My kids keep me in shape. I play every sport with them - football, basketball, baseball.
