Joining in on the pre-awards show celebration, George Clooney was spotted arriving to The Beverly Hilton hotel for the 84th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon that afternoon (February 6).

The “Descendants” actor looked dapper as he made his way to the Oscars statue decorated arrivals area, making certain to stop for a few photos before readying for the midday gathering amongst his esteemed peers.

Surely one of the most anticipated categories of the show, Mr. Clooney’s Best Actor in a Leading Role nomination has him up against Demián Bichir, Jean Dujardin, Gary Oldman and long-time friend Brad Pitt.

As for the big event itself, the 84th Annual Academy Awards will broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, February 26th beginning at 7 ET.

Making the wager in favor of the New England Patriots and against her “Extra” correspondent AJ Calloway, Maria tweeted a photo of herself in a robe earlier today with a caption reading, “Ready to face the music.”

The Blair Waldorf darling looked elegant in a sparkling silver bejeweled tiara, cream fur-trimmed blazer and a bright pink princess cut ballgown featuring layers of gathered fabric as she locked lops with her Dan Humphrey co-star hunk on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The week beginning workday comes as we’re just hours away from an all-new episode of “Gossip Girl” - with the show’s latest installment titled “The Backup Dan” airing at 8/7c on The CW.

With a preview found in the player below, the “Gossip Girl” website offers up a synopsis reading: “Blair must build a difficult decision about her future, the consequences of which could hurt those she loves most. Serena takes the blame for an incident with Gossip Girl in order to protect someone she loves. Georgina smells the scent of scandal and decides to follow its trail. Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle additionally star. David Warren directed the episode written by Matt Whitney.”

Fitting in a little fun in the sun amidst her concert efforts, Selena Gomez showed off her beach body in Rio de Janeiro by the weekend (February 4).

The 19-year-old got herself a Brazilian tan while relaxing by the hotel pool before signing a few autographs and taking pictures with a baby on the way back to her room.

Later that evening, Gomez performed a show at HSBC Arena, during which duration she told the audience, “Brazil, you have wanted me to come so much and I’m so, so happy that I finally came. Thank you. Offering up previously unrevealed tidbits about her personal life, Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about how she’s been able to maintain her marriage.

Of wedded life with Coldplay rocker Chris Martin, the Oscar winning actress credits her drive to be a good mother to children Apple and Moses as the spine behind making it through firm times.

Paltrow explained, “I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he [Chris] comes home.”

“We’ve been married for more than eight years now and we’re still into it,” the 39-year-old added. “I think you do fall in and out of love and you just keep going, and every instance you go through a really difficult phase you rediscover something new and it just gets better.”
