[They walked in and Kevin sat in the seat next to Sherylls bed. He carefully held her hand, afraid that he might break it. She had never looked so vulnerable or fragile before]KEVIN: Sheryll. For not being your best friend when you really needed me, and for being so jealous. Wake up and Ill make it up to you.[Joe took Sherylls other hand in his own]JOE: We really need you.KEVIN: And you never finished your sentence. I want to know what you were going to say to me.JOE: What?KEVIN: Before the accident, she was going to say something, but she didnt get to finish.NICK: What do you think she was going to say?KEVIN: I dont have any idea.SARAH: Look at her. What song?KEVIN: Hello Beautiful.[They sang to her hoping it would bring her back to them, but she stayed still and didnt bat a single eyelash]SARAH: Come on. I bet her parents want to see her again.[Joe threw one more longing glance at Sheryll before he closed the door]MOM: You kids should get home. I bet youve been here a long time.DAD: Thanks for being here for her.SAM: Its the least we could do.SARAH: Well visit her everyday.MOM: Thank you. I bet shed like that.DAD: Drive safely on your way home.KEVIN: I will. Thanks.[The five of them left, heavy hearted and hungry]SAM: Do you guys want to have some dinner at my house before you guys leave.JOE: No, I think we should be getting home. Its pretty late already.KEVIN: Yeah, and we have to leave tomorrow for concerts.NICK: Well be back as soon as we can.[The boys drove Sam and Sarah home, then headed to their own home]A week later[Kevin has been awake, just laying on his bed. Its 3 in the morning and hes afraid to go back to sleep. Hes been having the same dream in the past few nights. He sees Sheryll in her car

and hes trying to run after it. Then a light flashes and he hears her scream]KEVIN: Joe. Are you awake?JOE: No.[Joe sits up]JOE: Of course Im awake. I havent been able to sleep.KEVIN: Lucky Nick. He sleeps like a baby.JOE: He can sleep anywhere any time.KEVIN: When is Sheryll going to wake up? Its already been a week.JOE: What if she… never does.KEVIN: Dont even think about that. She is going to wake up.JOE: Youre not the only one who loves her.KEVIN: Yeah, but she loves me.JOE: You mean, she loved you. Do you know the show Ellen Degeneres?SARAH: Yeah, Ive watched you guys on it a couple times.NICK: Well, she found a picture of you and me, and she wants you to come by one time with us.SARAH: Thatd be so much fun. But maybe now isnt the time.NICK: Yeah. Maybe all three of you can come… when Sherylls better.SARAH: Ok. I hope I dont trip or something when Im in front of all those people.NICK: [Laughing] Dont worry about it. We fall all the time.SARAH: You guys can pull anything off.NICK: We try.SARAH: Where are Kevin and Joe, by the way?NICK: They went to go visit Sheryll. Have you been to visit her?SARAH: I go everyday. [Sarah held on tighter to Nicks hand] Shes still not waking up. But we have to stay optimistic.NICK: Well get through this.
